Hello shoppers! This year is my first real go around at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale & I was NOT prepared for what I witnessed at the mall today lol, so I am here to give you all the details on what you need to know before sale-ing!
When can I shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?
EARLY ACCESS: July 12-July 19. Nordstrom credit card holders get EARLY ACCESS and can shop 8 days earlier than those without cardholders- July 20th.
I applied for a Nordstrom credit card THIS MORNING & got approved in seconds.
WHY I APPLIED FOR A CREDIT CARD: Since cardholders get to shop the sale 8 days before it is open to the public, those 8 days are when the best items & most common sizes sell out! I learned this the hard way last year. I was so excited to shop during public access, and before I knew it, everything in my size was gone, and I was extremely disappointed. I am not making light of opening up a credit card, but if you feel like you want to use this sale to its fullest potential, I think being a cardholder is a significant portion of that!
The sale will open to the public on July 20th and prices will go back up on August 6th.
Here are some more details on how to sign up for a Nordstrom card if you’re interested!
PUBLIC ACCESS: Anyone and everyone can shop the sale starting July 20th – August 5th. The best items always sell out first, so if you don’t have a Nordstrom card try to get your favorite pieces ASAP on July 20th.
Do I shop in store or online?
I prefer shopping in the store simply because you can try things on. I loaded up a dressing room with 25+ items today & left with around 10. Trying on saved me a lot of shipping & in between wait time. Buying online is obviously really convenient, but if you purchase something in a size that doesn’t fit right, usually if you go to exchange it, its already sold out, so that is why I think in the store is your best bet for getting what you want! What I do like to do online though is check out the catalog first, so that when I get to the store I already have an idea of what I’m looking for!
What I tried on this morning!
Okay, so like I said above, I tried on probably 25+ items this morning, and I definitely did not leave with all of them lol. I snapped some pics in the dressing room of the items that I really liked! Some I got and others I decided not to. I’ve been trying to become more selective with my shopping recently- how often will I wear this? Will I get sick of this pattern? Is it worth the price? What do I have at home that I can wear this with? That kind of thing! I’m linking everything that I tried on so you can check them out, as well as what I actually did end up buying!
This year’s items are really great overall! There is a crazy selection of affordable, great quality sweaters that I was ogling all over! & don’t even get me started on shoes! I ended up with these adorable Nike’s & wouldn’t let myself venture too far into boots lol.
I already had this v neck in a few colors at home & I got some more today! It’s the perfect boxy cut & I love knotting it like this. & don’t even get me started on these leopard sweatpants, they are so soft & cozy & so affordable! I absoutely live in sweatpants at home, so I feel like I wear through them really quickly, so I love when they’re at a reasonable price point like these! There is a matching sweatshirt to go with them as well!
I did not end up getting this sweater because I didn’t think I’d wear it enough, but the print is SO fun! I did get this adorable Madewell denim skirt though! It runs really big! I’m usually a size 27 in denim, but I went with a 25 in this one.
This jacket may be my proudest purchase lol! The material is so buttery & plush! I cannot wait to wear it this fall. It also comes in gray!
This sweater is another piece that I’m really exicted about because the material is so cozy & could easily be worn casually with a pair of leggings, or you can dress it up with a pair of black jeans, a vest & a pair of heels!
