Happy Sunday! Does anyone else find the six days between Christmas and New years super disorienting? I’ve spent the last five not knowing what day of the week it is, and eating way too many Christmas left overs lol. I’ll just add that kind of behavior to the list of things that will stop once 2019 hits.. lol.
Today we’re talking all things winter white! Wearing white past Labor day is one of those things that everyone tells you not to do, but they never really give you a good reason as to why. I see both sides of this debate. I am a firm believer that if you live on the east coast, then you really should save certain whites (like white denim) for the spring and summer time, but with any other article, I think all bets are off! In 2019 I want to bend the fashion rules together & rock our winter white!
If were comparing the two main universal colors of black and white. I am partial to white. I feel that it is softer, more feminine, and reflects my personality more than black. That being said, I prefer to use white as my outfit base color over black. If you are the same, then you should not feel restricted when it comes to wearing your color after Labor day! & here are some ways you can do it!
The Golden Rule: If it’s white & a winter material, then its fair game! Meaning, white sweaters or other knits, white furs, white scarves, white velvet pants, even white booties have been a significant trend in the last few years! Basically, keep your white denim & linen away during the cold months. All other heavier materials are totally a go! Example: a thin white maxi skirt is a no, but a knit white pencil skirt is a go!
