Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette: Pun intended, this palette caused a lot of heat on social media. Personally, I love warm tones, so I was really excited for this palette to launch. There has been tons of controversy over shadow swatches; whether it’s all over Instagram or Youtube, some people say the swatches suck, but some people say they’re great lol. In my opinion, you can take the most beautifully formulated palette on the planet and make the swatches suck simply by not applying enough pressure. To settle this argument in my own mind; I went to Sephora to swatch this palette, and I wasn’t unamused by it because the swatches were patchy or inconsistent, but simply because I think the formula is too dry for my skin type. Like most Urban Decay palettes, the shadows are typically on the dryer, chalkier side, I have VERY dry eyelids, so I usually end up unhappy with the application of the matte shades. Not worth it in my mind. That being said, this formula is just like the other Naked palettes, so if you like those and you’re looking for some warm tones, this is the palette for you.
Ouai Memory Mist: This is the coolest product since ever. I heard about it on Laura Lee’s Snapchat story and thought it was the coolest thing in the world. Somehow this mist memorizes the curl pattern of your hair and is able to hold it rain or shine without it feeling like a dense hair spray. Sounds cool enough to me!! I just placed an order for it, so I will keep you updated on how it actually works. I’m a fan of most Ouai products, so I do not expect it to disappoint!!
Swirl Beauty Blender: When we’re talking about beauty sponges, I am 100% all for the Real Techniques Miracle Sponge. Beauty Blenders are overly priced and are lacking a flat edge (for concealer) like the Real Techniques sponge in my opinion. All of those important facts aside, this new design is beautiful lol. Beauty Blender must be trying to step up their game because this is their first pattern and I am really liking it visually lol.
Sephora Collection Stick Foundation: Sephora released their first ever foundation stick this month and I have been loving it for quick makeup days. I have been wearing the shade, “11 Koa – golden light tan with an olive undertone”, so if you have a similar skin tone to me, this is the color for you. A big selling point for me on this foundation stick is the price. Foundation sticks are notorious money suckers; the component is deceiving and you usually don’t get a lot of product for a ridiculous price. So the fact that this stick is only $20 is extremely appealing to me.
Drybar Wave Bundle: This bundle is super enticing to me just because of the great things it comes with. Beach Waves were the biggest rage ever during the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion show. I tried a beach waver that belonged to a co worker while I was working in a salon and I fell in love with it. It is such an easy process and works for just about every hair length. This Drybar set comes with not only the beach waver for a great price, but hair texturizer (a fancy way of saying sea salt spray) and an anti fly away paste. Both of these products are definitely essential in creating the complete Victoria’s Secret Look.
Tarte Tight & Bright Clay Multi-Mask: If you’re a packaging and component whore like me, this is the mask for you. Just LOOK at it. I ADORE this mask duo simply because of the lid if we’re being honest. It is by far the most beautiful display dropped in 2017. Tarte has really been stepping up their themed lines by sucking you in with incredible color combos. This two in one jar is a big draw. If you’re anything like me, you have used more than one mask per day because your skin needs more than one thing. If that is you, then this is the mask for you.
Too Faced Glitter Bomb Eyeshadow Collection: This palette received little to no hype, which surprised me a bit because I was excited for it. It’s said to be a GLITTER eyeshadow, but it’s honestly more of a shimmer. I have not played around with it on my eyes, just swatches, but it’s a little disappointing in my opinion. I don’t hate it, but I’m not loving it. I will say that the black is BLACK, so that is draw if you’re interested in getting this. The darker SHIMMERS (NOT glitters) did swatch a little patchy, but I do not base eye performance on swatches, so if anyone has played around with this palette, let me know how it applies and blends!! (and what you think of the glitter vs shimmer discrepancy)
Becca Light Chaser Highlighter: These are the prettiest highlights I have seen all summer. The color range is amazing and clearly designed to accommodate all skin tones. My favorite is the rosey pink shade, Amethyst Flashes Geod, because it can blend into your blush so beautifully OR be worn as a blush alone (but I do not recommend that if you have larger pores)!! Products that can be used for more than one purpose are always at the top of my list. Rose Quartz Flashes Seashell is another gorgeous color, it is too light for my complexion but I would definitely use it as an inner corner highlight on myself! I also think the name is really cute, Light Chaser is unlike any of the other more generic highlight names that have been dropping. I like that Becca has been very unique lately!
Huda Beauty Lip Strobe: These new Huda metallic glosses are everything!!! I did a post a few weeks ago on how I fell in love with all Huda lip products: Why Huda Beauty’s Liquid Lips Have Made Me Question Buying Any Other Brand Ever Again, and this one is no exception to that statement!!
Let me know if there are any new products that you’ve been loving (or not loving) this month!!
